Summer time is coming quickly, which makes a lot of think about spending more time with our friends and family. It makes us think about getting out more and enjoying the weather and perhaps grabbing a nice burger. I’m going to tell you about three of the top burger experiences I’ve had in Columbia, Missouri and hope to give you some ideas for where to take your friends and family this summer.
With Sept. 18 right around the corner, the Americana Paris Music Festival isn’t done surprising fans with major announcements of Showcase performances. Today, Aug. 21, they announced three big curated shows from three of the biggest names in Americana Music, Ed Helms, Bob Harris, and Mumford & Sons’ Ben Lovett.
The cooks are within a visible distance and they take no time at all. The staff that I have met there have always been friendly and courteous. If what you are looking for is a good time with your family in a fifties style restaurant, this is the place to go.
If the band is simply Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlin playing with new musicians, it begs the question of what would make that band any different from Zwan, except for the name and back catalogue.
Mugs Up has been in Columbia, Missouri since 1955 and have made a success here in town. Try anything on the menu and you won’t be upset. The zip burgers are amazing, especially with everything on it. The way Mugs Up burgers taste is very unique, but very American and very enjoyable. The zip burgers and chili cheese dogs have always been a favorite of mine.
Chamberlin was recruited back into the band for their final album, Machina/The Machines of God. The original Smashing Pumpkins were reunited for most of the recording of this album, but bassist D’arcy left before the band went on tour. James Iha and Billy Corgan, the founding members of The Smashing Pumpkins, were also the only ones who were not replaced at somepoint during the band’s tumultuous career.
I could rattle on all day but when you get down to the nitty gritty it’s simply your own personal choice. You have the right to choose what you want for you own wedding. But if you’re willing to take a chance on a destination wedding you can see for yourself just how remarkable and memorable the rewards are. All couples have various options for what kind of wedding to have. So don’t rush it. Just spend time thinking about just what it would take to make your wedding an event that will be unique and something to be cherished for the rest of your life. Destination weddings can indeed produce the memories you want for the most important day of your life.
